Contract Engineer/Technician
Job requires that technician installs and performs on-site repair of customers’ computer equipment and peripherals. Ideal candidate would be a technician who works well independently, as well as with others. Technician is responsible for providing service on a wide range of industry products. Installs and resolves complex technical problems on new and existing systems including hardware, software and networking products. Ensure compliance with customers’ technical and quality standards and procedures as well as the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and repair various manufacturer products, including but not limited to Dell, HP & IBM PC’s, laptops and printers.
- Troubleshoot advanced first tier hardware and operating software problems on PC workstation and notebook computers.
- Provide component level replacement for hardware resolution on workstations, notebook computers, printers and peripheral equipment- in and out of warranty.
- Install new hardware and hardware upgrades.
- Bench diagnostics / technical approval for repairs.
- Moves, adds and changes in a desktop environment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Other requirements:
- Must be able to pass full background check to include: DMV (good driving record), drug screening, criminal background, credit check, past employment and education.
- A+ certificationis required.
- Must exhibit high levels of customer service.
- Ability to convey technical and personal attributes to internal and external customers.
- General familiarity with desktop operating systems.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds unassisted. Must be able to lift between 25 and 50 pounds with tools and other assistance.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to work independently when necessary.
- Must be able to travel to customer sites to perform job duties when necessary.
